Background:
Joel Davis began
his practice after graduating from law school in 1962. He
worked for one year as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of
Boulder. He then went to work for Title Guaranty Company,
which merged with Transamerica Title Insurance Company. He
managed the Boulder office of Transamerica Title for five years,
during some of the most vigorous growth experienced by the City of
Boulder. In the fall of 1965, Joel was elected to a four-year
term on the Boulder City Council. During his term, he actively
supported, and the citizens of Boulder passed, the first sales tax
issue to finance open space acquisitions.
In 1968, Joel
joined the Denver law firm of Davis, Graham and Stubbs, and became a
partner in that firm shortly thereafter. His work with that
firm generally related to real estate development. In 1972, he
returned to Boulder to continue his practice, joining with Peter
Dietze to form the firm of Dietze and Davis. Joel's personal
practice over the last thirty-two years has been in the areas of
real estate law and estate planning.
